In September 2007, a college student at a public university forum asked a long question, ran past his time, and got pulled from the microphone. Campus officers took him to the floor. He shouted the four words that outlived everything else said in that room that day, and they became a punchline for a decade. The question he was trying to finish was about democracy, which is the part nobody remembers.

The art is a woodcut-style scene in flat black. A young man is pinned face down on the floor, mouth open mid-shout, hair flying, while four anonymous uniformed arms press him into the carpet. One hand holds the device. A single yellow spark cracks at his shoulder, the only color on the shirt. Just out of reach, a microphone lies on its side with its cable looping across the floor, still plugged in and no longer useful. Under the art: STAND UP FOR AMERICA, VOTE 2026. The microphone is the one on the floor.
