Certified Dirtbag Sticker | Porcupine Press
Insults in a Senate hearing room are supposed to be the payoff, not the whole act. At the Sept. 29, 2026 Senate Judiciary hearing, Sen. Eric Schmitt called former special counsel Jack Smith a 'total dirtbag,' as reported, after his perjury trap fell apart over a mixed-up reference to the Hawks and the Hawkeyes. One of those is a basketball team and one is a college in Iowa, and neither of them was the point. When the gotcha collapses, the name-calling is all you have left, so you might as well print it on a shirt.
The art takes him at his word and gives the title an institution. CERTIFIED DIRTBAG arches across the back in tall black collegiate block letters with chiseled serifs, thin red inline, cream drop shadow, cracked like a jersey that survived three decades in a garage. Below it a red athletic stripe runs the full width, broken by a knocked-out bar reading EST. SEPT. 29, 2026. Every slur eventually gets a founding date, a school color scheme and an alumni association.
